I did a lot of research and decided this was the right desk. I have it on laminate flooring against a wall and it is very sturdy. I warned my son not to put anything valuable on the monitor shelf but so far I have not noticed the toys he put up there falling down. The desk had one wonky screw but other than that was fairly easy to assemble. The desk top will show marks with moderate use but for the price, I am pleased with the size and sturdiness of the desk. Also looks cool and the power supply built in made the desk that much cooler for my son.i liked the desk overall and not the monitor stand so i kept it out but the out could only be screwed into the monitor stand not anywhere else so that's disappointing. And another thing this desk is really easy to get a dent in it so if you hit it into anything while carrying it have fun with a scratch and dent in it but its a overall solid good desk and surprisingly sturdy.If you don't like the red or blue "gaming" thing is says on the sides of the legs don't worry, those are just stickers and you can keep the legs black instead of having those lame stickers on there. It's a nice desk overall, just as the pictures they provide show. Only thing annoying is all but a few of the screws are like this. Why? So annoying. Comes with an L wrench for the job but no one wants to do that by hand. Over all good desk, just wish the screws were Phillips head screws.Works great for my son. He is using it without the monitor platform and seems to be enjoying it so far.
